Norfolk_Jim wrote: »Hi, I've been enjoying going through the thread and using one or two coupons. I chanced upon a couple of TV shows on Sky yesterday about coupon use in USA - wow! It's a different world over there isn't it - I was amazed at how they buy 100's of the same product with 100's of the same coupon - 4-12 trolly fulls - AND.... The shop staff just stand and applaud them, cheering them on, way to go shopper!
Thats a far cry from having my 50p off crisps coupon refused at the till and then being asked to come back after 6 when the manager would be there and could say if I'd be allowed to use it or not.
I feel naughty using just 1 or at most 2 MOC's at my local Mr T's - some of you are way braver than I am with these things.
But it just caught my attention what a massively different attitude there is between USA and UK. Ok, I know coupons are massive in USA compared to here where it looks like they'd like to stamp them out (No pun intended). Still every penny saved - thanks to all for sharing these finds. : )
I caught Extreme Couponing yesterday too - I was amazed at the savings I quickly recorded the programme to show my hubby when he got home from work. I know that if coupons/offers were available like that in this country then my garage would look like a stock room too!!! If only I could buy £1900 worth of groceries for £100!!!!Donna
Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0 -
HiGood morning all,
Thanks MT for the shopping list, i always find them really useful.Noticed you purchased the bic razors , only found this coupon yesterday, did you have any trouble using it? it looks different and the barcode is quite small.:D
I used the coupon in Mr T's on Friday with no problems. I hadn't resized it and it came out A4. The SA commented on the size and said that she would have to fold it to get it in her till but she didn't question it.
I think Cupcake posted last night that she had used hers and it had compared for APG so I presume that was a successful use in Mr A.0 -

A lesson learned for me today - keep your MOC's with you at all times!
Popped into W's on way to visit friends to get Mail on Sun (using 50p MOC) and thought that would be that so only took my purse and the MOC. Silly Silly me. Saw Airwick bits and bobs reduced in a basket and could have had some freebies with my £1 offs
Note to self: check - keys, purse, MOC's!!!!!!!!!;) xx
Great tip cupcake.
Wilko's regularly have reduced items and never thought of using vouchers on those - usually just look for the item on the shelves.
Good excuse to buy another bag to keep them all in.

I think the coupon you receive ie for a kitten or adult cat, depends on what age you say your cat is. I've just registered for my brother's cat which is 5 years old and I received a coupon for an adult cat.0
