morning all just been to sains to use a dettol no touch coupon (managed to get a silver one for £2 after moc) and noticed they have the betty crocker cake mixes and the the tubs of cream all on 1/3rd off. this makes the mixes £1.30-£1.40ish depending on which you go for (the devils food cake is fab) and ideal price to use up any 30p off coupons people may still have left over from dtd betty days from the pancake mix. the cookie mixes are only 80p so 50p after moc and ideal to make with the kids in the hols.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but Asda refused to accept my Price Guarantee coupon and some manufacturers coupons the other day as the discount came to more than 10% of the cost of my shopping. Is this normal? The supervisor agreed with the cashier that this was the correct Asda policy. The coupons I had were £1.27 Asda Price Guarantee, 30p off Lipton tea (coupon came with free sample), £1 off Country Crisp (printable coupon) and 50p off McCain Beer Battered Home Chips. All the coupons were still in date, not supermarket specific and used against the correct item.

I was trying to buy the above products plus a few other items - about £6.50 worth in total. They said I couldn't use the Price Guarantee coupon at all that time as it was way over the 10%, but I could use either the Lipton 30p or the McCain 50p. I decided not to use any at that time and put the groceries back.

The cashier told me to save them for a "big shop", but I don't do a big shop, just four or five easily-carriable shops per week.

I didn't have time to stay and check what the correct policy was, so my mum (who happened to be in the shop at the same time) went to customer services afterwards and asked if she could use her £1.08 Price Guarantee coupon against her £2.50's worth of shopping - she was told that as long as it didn't make a negative value she could use it.

I've emailed Asda but have yet to receive a reply.

Does anyone know for sure what their policy is? I was so embarrassed having my coupons refused and with a long line tutting behind me.
    Would LOVE to win:
A hamper - any sort! A goody bag - any sort! A UK mini-break. A year's supply of something foodie. Anything Sci-Fi related
2013 wins - Cutting Room book, Rock n Rose necklace, £50 M&S voucher, Greggs coffee, £70 voucher for a Onesie

Sorry, but Asda staff have told you an absolute load of codswollop.

Total nonsence and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Complain like mad over this, its so wrong to do this to good customers. Mention your embarassment and upset at their staffs comments.

I have used as many as 7 apg and say a dozen or more coupons at a time and paid maybe as little as a couple of pounds for my shopping. Thats getting a £30 shop for £1 for example. Most people on here have done the same.

The correct policy is one page 1.

You can use as many apg's as you like as long as you do not go into negative balance as they don't want to give money back.

However I believe some people have gone to customer services and got the money for an apg (but I have never tried this)

With regard to manufactures coupons, you can use these against the correct product, as long as its non store specific, or if its an asda coupon. As long as its in date and any conditions are met, ie a coupon sometimes says one per person.

There is no limit, I usually use between 10 - 20 coupons in asda at a time.

Hope you get a grovelling apology from asda.
