Hi everyone,
Just to say thank you to all my lovely MSE facebook friends who voted for me in th New York Bakery comp. I didn't win the trip to New York which I am quite thankful of with all the horrible, evil comments I got from people, including some fellow MSEers who posted comments in the press about me calling me a cheat which I am not. I was chosen as a finalist on merit for the poem that I wrote & the winner was chosen by NY Bakery themselves NOT based on the votes, which was a bit of a sham as it was not supposed to be a voting comp or I would never have entered in the first place. I'm still waiting for an apology from the press agency who stole my story & rewrote it in their words saying I live a luxury lifestyle & earn a living from my prizes, it would be very nice if I could but I don't, the only holidays I'll ever be able to have are ones that I've won so I'd better get entering some more comps right now!
I did receive a lovely goodie box from them as a consolation prize this morning which I wasn't expecting & I have congratulated the winner, Julie Booth, who is also an avid comper & fellow member of Compers News, she was a very worthy winner & hopefully she'll come back from New York with some lovely new ideas for new flavours of bagels, I've already given her a few ideas that I'd like to see on the shelves. Now I'm off to toast a bagel

Commiserations Liz. Ignore the jealous and !!!!!y comments. I believe in all kinds of karma, including comping karma. I admit, I'd love to win some of the things you've won, but you deserve them and have as much right as anyone else to win them so would never hold it against you. Hopefully a big win is around the corner for both of us.0

I am so sorry people were nasty. Do not take any of the comments to heart, they really just have nothing better to do. As for fellow MSE'rs they really should be ashamed of themselves.
Keep doing what you are doing and enjoy, the good people on here support you all the way.0 -
Nevermind Liz. It's such a shame people have to be so nasty and cruel. People are simply jealous - most competitions are purely random and you've been lucky to win the ones you've won. But that's just it - luck, nothing malicious on your part. Some people just won't get that! I don't understand how you could possibly be called a cheat. It seems all this has put a dampener on an otherwise exciting experience and near win.
At least you got far in the NY comp and have got a nice runner up prize. Well done and good luck in your future comping!

Well done on your runners-up prize! :T The big prize wasn't meant for you this time but there will be another win out there that's meant for you.

Well done on making it into the finalists, and I'm sorry you didn't win.
I was disgusted with some of the comments made, I noted that one of them was from a new disgruntled comper who had moaned not long beforehand about never winning. The mind boggles why anyone thinks it is acceptable to speak to another human the way some of them had commented but please don't take it to heart, everyone has an opinion it just seems that some people are unable to squash the green eyed monster and keep their opinions to themselves.
Wishing you al the bestComping wishlist for 2017

Never mind hunnie! Well done on getting as far as you did.
I commented on that thread for the NP as I was truly disgusted (and still am) at some of those comments. It's such a shame there are so many hurtful people out there, and even more so that they have to do it behind a computer screen. Thanks to all posters :A0 -
well done on runner-up prize :T:T:T
i stopped putting my wins in my sig due to jealous/nasty comments/pm/s, now i just post the win in IWIW & pm the op to thank them, what realy gets me sometimes is the peeps who comment/are not 'nice' are a minority who don't contribute to the boards/thank the op half the time on the threads or are complaining they never seem to win, i believe what comes round goes round & have since stopped bothering about it,
let karma deal with it

Hiya liz, congratulations on ALL your wins, comping is just like buying raffle tickets or the lottery, it is LUCK, I am chuffed with all my wins and ENJOY reading about everybody elses. The people who made the ridiculous comments obviousy have a problem, but remember, it is their problem, not yours. YOU CARRY ON WINNING GIRL!2020: New Year, New Decade, New Adventures!!

Well done you! I feel like I 'know' you and it's nice when someone you know wins stuff!
I read a lot of articles on-line about various things and am surprised every day by the nastiness which goes on in comments. I don't think I'll ever get used to it, I just don't understand why someone would go to the effort just to upset another human.
Anyway, ignore all the ignorants and hope you have many, many more wins - that'll p*ss them off some more!
