Granite worktops

Shortly to have new granite worktops fitted. The supplier has been chosen on recomendation so hopefully no issues on that front.
It's just a query on the relative hrdness of various coloured granites, the little info I have suggests darker colours are more dense hence more wear/scratch resistant than lighter ones???
Colour hasn't been finalised but we were thinking Kashmir Gold.
Anyone had that fitted for any time??
