    Hi,

I had carbon film UFH installed all downstairs and in the bathroom. It is very effective but it does cost more than I was led to believe. I pay £70/month in electric.

The floor area downstairs is approx 7mx5m. The bathroom is 2mx2m.

It heats up very quickly but I have it on a thermostat so in winter it stays on all the time.

In the livingroom I also have a gas fire for when its really cold but its had very little use.

I was advised against this with "if a problem with the cable arises, locating this could be expensive". Don't think the tiler was being lazy as he would be losing income....but I decided against it and still jealous of mates with their warm floors in the winter but not jealous of their electricity bills!

Hey we've got to start somewhere and since I've not used the other brands before can't speak for them!

Point taken. However, I'm pretty sure no one else who is a regular contributor on this website ends up plugging a firm two times in their first three posts - please correct me if I'm wrong.

The people who DO tend to do that are spammers so the logical conclusion is...................?

Agreed. Plus Warmup don't use the cheap imported heaters some other UFH companies do.
    ..

And Warmup mats are hand made by craftsmen in Nottingham? I doubt it. I think it unfair to cast aspersions on other brands when you don't really know where any of them come from - as if that matter anyway, iphones are made in a big factory in China as are most things in your house.

I have higher qualifications and 25 years experience in the electronics industry, including R & D of the highest specification military technology. In my qualified opinion, the product I recommended I have inspected to be of excellent quality, otherwise I wouldn't have used it myself. Its considerably cheaper than warmup and renders it an unwise choice.

UFH comes in different power ratings, people that have been disappointed may have used 100 watt/m products. A genuine 200 watt/m system can be a decent primary heat source, my tiled conservatory floor would get over 40 degrees if I let it.
