car no claims question

some companies ask for no claims details up to 5yrs and other ask for upto 9yrs+

now over the years through switching policies with companies that use the 5yr systerm, it looks like i have maxium of 5yrs no claims when i havent made a claim in 15yrs. is there anything i can do to prove i havent made any claims to insurance companies that are asking for no claims over the 5yrs. i only keep the policies from the previous year

I had a big argument with MoreTh<n over this. Every year as I am protected NCD, the renewal policy does not give the number years held as NCD. So as I switched companies again this year I asked MoreTh<n for proof of my NCD years. Flippen ech, what a fuss they caused. Basically as most companies only want proof of 4 years NCD thats all they were prepared to send to me. But I have 12 years NCD and I want that in writing. I went from Supervisor to Manager (Indian Call Centre!!) and it was like I was asking for the earth. All I wanted was what was mine, what I had earnt. It took me 2 weeks of pestering but eventually I got MY years in writing, for the very purpose you are stating, some companies want proof if you have more NCD years.

As I said I ALWAYS ask for my NCD years in writing every year I change companies. I know that is not a lot of help if you have not asked every year, but if you know your last Insurance companies, give them a ring, they hold your/their records for quite a few years. In my complaint I had to phone Admiral and Churchill (My previous insurers) and they were quite happy to supply my proof in NCD.

    Hope that helps.
