    That's a fab thing to do. I've spoken with other people who went into their bank to settle the mortgage and kind of expected a mini-fanfare, but instead they came out feeling rather deflated, sort of thinking "was that it? we've just paid off the biggest debt of our lives and nobody said 'well done' or 'congratulations ?".

    Like you, i've booked a weekend away for the weekend after the final payment goes out, but a bit closer to home, in London. Even so - we're off to Sydney the following month for the New Year's Eve fireworks display at Circular Quay :j :j :j

    OMG this Friday as in today?!!! Well done you. I'm hoping to scrape it together to get MF by November 2013 which seems like forever. I think I need to get a little more inventive and get a paper round or something!
