I'm looking around at the moment for my two (chatty Selkirk Rex and quieter lilac BSH) and wondering whether to go for lifetime annual or lifetime per condition (I had lifetime annual before).

I'm not sure what "lifetime annual" is?

Most policies are either restricted to covering an ailment/illness etc for 12 months or provide lifetime cover.

I'd always recommend lifetime - having had a cat with an ongoing condition (he had treatment for around 9 years), I'd have been absolutely stumped if I'd gone for a 12 month policy (and loathe as I am to say it, he probably wouldn't have been around as long as his treatment was £000s each year).
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!

I am green with envy, if I ever got a pedigree I would have a rosetted Bengal. There are some awesome videos on YouTube of homemade cat gyms for Bengals, not in one spot like a cat tree but systems running around the walls in the hall or up the stairs. My rescue girl would be in heaven, she loves to climb.

AXA is very well thought of on cat forums, you can do a dummy quote online as the prices vary widely around the country. PetPlan are much potentially more expensive in later life as you have to pay a percentage of the bill instead of a fixed excess. E&L are just known as E&L, do not touch any insurer using those initials! :p

Sorry, can't offer any advice on insurance but I just had to say that I'm SOOOO exicted for you!!!!

We have now 2 moggies (1 died nearly 2 years ago) and whilst I'm sure my 2 girls are going to be around for a while, I can't help browsing for Burmese on the utube. I visited a cat competition in Earls' Court years and years ago and it was love at first sight. However, as I'd like my cats to have access to outdoors, I'm not sure if our situation would be suitable as although we have a small garden and are not too near a main road I've read that the Burmese have no street sense and could be vulnerable. I've never had problems with our moggies, except one of them who was a little bit too adventurous for my liking.

Please send some pics once you got your kitties!

Thanks so much everyone for your continued thoughts and help :)

Fire Fox - I think I noticed in another thread that your cat is called Talulah? Coincidentally, my snow Bengal is called Tallulahbelle :D The brown spotted boy is called Sunspot ;)

If you want to see piccies of my kittens, Mrs Z, you can see them here

I just can't wait :D But unfortunately, I'm not getting them until the end of August, I don't know how I am going to wait that long :rotfl:

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd follow up this thread and let you know the outcome. I had 4 weeks PetPlan insurance free when I got the kittens, this runs out next week. So I thought I'd better get something sorted and today have gone for lifetime cover with PetPlan, the policy that gives up to £7,000 per year vet's bills.

I got the first month free and then it is just over £11 per month for Lulabelle (female) and £12 per month for Spot (male). This is with a £65 excess, but no percentage payment required for treatments.

so, not bad considering this is the Market leader in insurance in my opinion ;)
