Ive used the same camera for a number of years and the same memory card, always they have been jpeg files.
Suddenly I take some important ones at a family get together and they are coming up as MOV, HTM files, i really dont understand why and can i change them to jpeg files.

    Which camera is it?

Does it have options for output formats?

    .mov are usually quicktime files

    This would play them

This will convert the images, though I would copy them first, then play with those just in case

    It's a Konika Minolta Dimage X50

What I want to do is store them in a file and then email them to friends and family.
    Thanks

The mov ones sound like you've accidentally taken a video rather than a picture

HTM(L) is the file format for web pages. It can't be used to store images, though it can link to image files, so they appear when you display it in a web browser. What actually happens when you open the HTML file? Does it display the image, or an album, or something along those lines?

This is from the specification sheet

    Compressed Format:
    JPEG

    Movie File Format: MotionJPEG (MOV)

See if the other programme will convert the the htm files

If you accidentally clicked to take movies, then axidemux will let you load the clip and save the output as jpegs

    http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/

    win32 2.5.5 Install, SourceForge,

Open avidemux, click file, save, save selection as jpeg images
