Anyone know where I can get one? I know I could design one with powerpoint, but I'm not that clever, and I know there are charts that i could download but I've only been ablwe to find downloads that look a bit dodgy, or you only get a 7 day trial and then you have to pay. Well I want a free one obviously, or I wouldn't be a moneysaver. Can anyone guide me in the right direction.

Hi
I have tried Googling for you, and there are loads of links out there, it is a very big industry and very addictive - hence the warning. Not free but maybe one way forward is joining Genes Reunited, and you can have an on line chart, which I believe you can print for under a £10. I am a member now as totally addicted, so cannot get back to find out the cost, you can do so much of the site without paying, but I dont think you can contact other members if you find a match. The files they produce are GEDCOM files, so you may find more under that.
I dont know how far you are with your family research, but if you want any more info on how to research as cheaply as possible, then pm me.:beer:Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club

GRAMPS is free, but at present use of it in Windows is not recommended. Fortunately, it's also available in the form of the Linux Genealogy Desktop CD, which runs directly from the disc drive in your computer.
A short guide to getting started can be found here.0 -
I use a free version provided by the Legacy website.0
