Terms and Conditions

1. Open to all UK, CI, IoM and RoI residents except employees and their immediate families of VisitScotland, DC Thomson & Co., their agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.
2. Limited to one entry per household. No third party or bulk entries will be accepted.
3. Entrants must be over 18 years of age.
4. Draw closes 17.07.11

6. To enter simply log on to www.visitscotland.com/surpriseplus and register your details.
7. Two prizes are available. Each prizefund includes 1 x 2-night stay for 2 adults at the 3-star Benfield Cottage, Morebattle. Stay is on a self-catering basis. Prize also includes; entry for 2 adults to Floors Castle, Kelso, including lunch for 2 adults at the Courtyard Restaurant; a 4-course evening meal for 2 at Ednam Hotel Hotel, including a bottle of house wine; a half-day guided fishing experience for 2 on the River Tweed, courtesy of Tweed Guide.
8. Each prize break also includes £200 spending money and £100 maximum travel allowance in total. Travel allowance will be paid once the prizewinner provides full receipts. Amount payable will be at the Promoter’s discretion and will be to a maximum of £100 in total.
9. Both prize breaks must be taken in full before 27.04.12.
10. Accommodation must be redeemed between 06.08.11 and 06.11.11 or between 11.02.12 and 27.04.12. Dates outwith these times are strictly not available.
11. Floors Castle tour and lunch are redeemable between August and October 2011, and Easter and October 2012.
12. Meal at Ednam House Hotel includes one bottle of red or white house wine. Any further wine or drinks are not included.
13. Fishing experience with Tweed Guide will normally last around 3.5 hours. Bad weather, bad water conditions or lack of fish catches are outside the control of Tweed Guide. Should the chosen river be high or unsafe to fish we reserve the right to attempt to substitute the river location with a suitable still-water option. This may be subject to an additional charge. In matters of safety the decision of the guide/instructor is final.
14. The Tweed Guide guide/instructor will wait for 60 minutes at the agreed meeting point. If the participant has not made contact with the guide/instructor the prize will be deemed to have been cancelled.
15. The prizes do not include any travel insurance, any other meals or related living expenses. Prizewinners will be fully liable for any damage or breakages to the property or its contents for the duration of their stay. No pets or smoking allowed within the property.
16. All elements of prize package are non-transferrable, are subject to date availability, subject to change and are subject to all prizefund provider standard operator terms and conditions.
17. The prizes are as stated and no cash or other alternative prize is available, except that in the event of circumstances outside of its control, the promoter reserves the right to provide a similar prize of equal or greater value.
18. Two winners will be drawn at random on 31.07.11 under independent supervision from all entries received and notified in writing within 28 days of the closing date. The promoter's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
19. Prizes must be claimed within 28 days of notification. Failure to do so will result in forfeit of the prize and another winner will be drawn.
20. No responsibility can be taken for any entries that are lost or delayed or which are unable to be sent due to Internet connection issues or systems failure or anything else that prevents entries being received. Proof of online entry does not constitute proof of delivery.
21. By entering the promotion, entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the Terms and Conditions. All entry instructions form part of these Terms and Conditions. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions will result in a forfeit of the prize.
