Car Broken into, no conviction, sky high insurance

Hi guys

just looking for a bit of advice. My friends car was broken into over night, in a public car park. Several other cars in the same car park were done in the same night. The police havent been able to find who did it. They wrote off my friends car they trashed it so bad. Shes since lost her no claims (a year or two) and now has sky high insurance quotes.

Does anyone know anything that may help? Its a bit crap that your held responsible for someone breaking into your car in terms of insurance!!
Thanks

Fraid so - it's a no claims discount, not a no blame discount.
Protected NCD is the only way to avoid it really.

    Hiya

As your insurance company as no 3rd party to claim the costs back from then unfortunately it will affect your no claims bonus. As the above poster said its a no claim bonus not a no blame bonus.

    Sorry its not better news.
