Hi
It does not matter if you give your details out idf the debt is statute barred.
You need to send two letters.
1. A letter advising Muck Hall and merit force to remove your parent's phone umber from their records with advice that if they ring once more, you will report the to the Informnation Commisioner.
2. Legally Muck Hall can ask you to pay a statute barred debt, until such time as you advise them in writing that you are not going to pay. So send a Statute barred letter and they have to stop.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
How do you stop them calling and pestering your parents? Speak to them or follow the advice above. Stop dodging it and deal with it.0

As said, write telling them that the debt is statute barred and that they must cease contact.
If they persist after that, report them to the OFT, trading standards, the FOS, etc....Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

It seemed a pretty reasonable post to me, short and to the point,
and there is no excuse for rudeness and no room for it on these boards. As a newbie you need to be told that if you want help, dont be rude because people will think twice about helping you.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Aside from putting 'write to them' instead of 'speak to them' I don't see how it wasn't giving you some advice. If you want war and peace from everyone each time they post then you're unlikely to get it.
IMO short and to the point tends to get a message across far better than a long waffling post. Regardless of how little you obviously liked hearing it.
I had written quite a bit more than I ended up posting but I cut a lot of it out because it was mostly pointless things I'm sure you already know. My original message that I posted (and then quickly edited) involved references to 'burying your head in the sand isn't going to make it go away' and 'the longer you leave it the more they'll pester your parents' as well as a few other points which weren't worth making as I'm sure you've probably heard them all before.
So now you've got a longer post. If short and to the point upsets you then you have my thorough apologies, I'll bear it mind the next time I try and tell you that running away from your problems doesn't solve them.
Now you've made me +1.
