pc utility software

my pc is perforiming slowly, anyone using a program to clean there system. been looking around google but want some real feedback before i get one. any help will be great

    Mostly, Utility Programmes only do what can be done manually, they will find things, some to justify their existence, some worthwhile, however, they will possibly only find things for the first month, then it will just sit there saying the system is optimised whenever it is run

    I wouldn't use any "utility programs"... whatever they are.

    If you have malware installed, there are plenty of free anti-malware applications that can help remove them - although I would consider reinstalling the OS if you have a particularly bad infestation.

    Other than that, you can disable startup items via the registry (on Windows OSes), and uninstall any applications that run in the background (assuming you don't need them!), and maybe disable any services or daemons that you don't need.

    It might also be worth checking that you are using the most appropriate/up-to-date hardware drivers in case they are slowing down the system.
