mr mob brought a contract phone from CPW the other day as he needs one for work purposes.

he recently opened a bank account also but as he is not getting paid until the end of next week he informed cpw and tmobile of the date he gets paid and was told not a problem, they will take first months contract payment on that date.

this morning he gets a letter from his bank telling him he has gone overdrawn and will now be charged for going overdrawn.

this is cpw / tmobiles fault.

is there anything that can be done?

Did cpw or tmobile say that it wasn't a problem? Billing is done by tmobile and not carphone; they're merely selling you the contract. When you sign up to a new contract you get put on a billing cycle by the network with your first payment USUALLY coming out in about a fortnight's time but sometimes can be sooner, network dependent of course.

If he gives his bank a ring they should be able to refund any overdrawn charges and then ring tmobile to change the billing date if necessary

Ant, how and when did he inform T Mob about when he wanted to pay?

Choc is right, I got a new contract about 3 weeks ago and got my first bill about 10 days after I received the phone. It all depends on when the billing cycle is.

Did he receive a bill from T-Mob showing him the charges and when the DD would come out?

I used to be with T-Mob and on every bill it had the date it would come out of the bank.

CPW have now said they will cover the cost of his bank charges.
