Temporary Bed

My brother is staying with me for a few weeks over the summer. The last few days he's been sleeping on an air bed but somehow it's got punctured. I'm a bit wary about buying another air bed as the same thing happened to the other one we had.

Does anyone know of any high street shops (we need one for him tonight) that sell fold away type beds (it will be stored in the garage when he's not using it) at reasonable prices or any other ideas. It needs to be a single bed. I'm not sure about a camp bed for him as he's not the smallest.

Argos do a few fold up guest beds around the £50 mark - these tend to be better than camp beds. They even have slatted varieties which should offer comfort closer to that you'd get in a proper bed. Given their metal frame they'll likely squeak, so you'll soon learn the cause of the mystery puncture... :whistle:

Why not buy a bicycle puncture repair kit and mend the airbed?

An airbed shouldn't puncture too easily, unless there's a pin or something on the floor, or something sharp on the person sleeping on it ( belt buckles, body piercings ... ? ) I'd say an airbed is the best and cheapest temporary bed, just find out what's causing the puncture.

Other than that, if you have a large-ish Tesco or Asda nearby, they often sell this sort of stuff cheaply, especially at this time of year - airbeds and camp beds. You'd probably find something that's fairly cheap and will do the job.

Air beds are rubbish. I've had three, all broke eventually. One had a split seam.

What about futon beds? Collapsible ones convert into a chair/sofa. Argos probably do them.

Sadly we've no room for a chair bed. The room he's sleeping in only just fits a single bed in it and once he's gone we need all the space as it's mainly used as a computer room.

Any normal bed store sells foldable individual beds, they are good but quite pricey. For a cheaper option, Argos.

I got mine on ebay (originally from John Lewis), it has a foam mattress and when my mum stays she uses and says it's really comfy.
