We always get up and leave very early and then you can have a late breakfast/brunch in Looe itself!
Seriously much more pleasant for everyone when child/ren are asleep for part of journey and you are driving on dedserted roads for at least part of the journey
Also M4/M5 for us - have done the A303 twice in all these years and was horrible by comparison
