    I am not bad at Ulster Scots, but I am more fluent in weedgie, Lalland and Doric (I spent a bit of time in Buckie as a bairn).

    The case of the UK's constituents are almost unique in world geography. It all comes down to the geographical definitions of a State (country), and Scotland does not fulfill them.

    Also, resorting to name-calling? Very mature. But then again, this is MSE.

    Country, state and nation are (wrongly) used interchangeably. Look up the differences.

    Even the General Register Office for Scotland agrees.

    The necessary subordinate legislation, relating to the
    specific arrangements for the Census in each country, requires the
    approval of the UK Parliament in Westminster for England and Wales, the
    Scottish Parliament and the Northern Ireland Assembly respectively
