I all the online adds about 2 year bonds Santander`s rate looks good,the blurb offers online,telephone,branch, ok so i want to set up a bond ,i follow the instructions,bond is set up but hey when i get the confirmation through the post they want me to send a CHEQUE with all the details on the back.......cheque? wots a check? i thought online meant (as i have with 2 other companies )i transfer monie electronically via the webb
I suspect abbey nationals old stick in the mud attitude has infected santander an oddity is that if i visit a branch of santander i can pay with my debit card.....................?

Quite a few fixed rate bonds seem to only accept cheque deposits, which is a bit of a pain as cheques take so long to clear, online transfers are the best option nowadays so I agree with you that it is a nuisance!
Not sure about making a deposit by debit card, but maybe they will just about accept the cheque at the branch :rotfl:0 -
