halifax overdraft question???????

hi again,i have an halifax overdraft of £1500 that ive had for nearly 2 years, ive been with halifax for 10 years.anway i borrowed £1500 off my parents to clear my overdraft.i then went in halifax to get the overdraft limit knocked down to £100.they said they were having problems lowering it because on screen it was recommending that i have £0 overdraft.ive checked my credit file and its all fine, not one bad thing.why would they do this?could it because i was maxed up to the £1500 limit for ages?the woman over rided the system to lower it,and said its nothing to worry about,as they review their overdrafts every few months.im getting sick of being rejected for credit,i have halifax saying i shouldnt even have an overdraft, surely this means they think my credit is bad,an overdraft isnt the worst thing ever, ive been rejected a small egg loan,an mbna credit card, all this and when i do a credit check with all agencies it says im good,my credit score was just over 900 out of 1000 it gave my household 5 stars as i live with my parents who earn alot of money,it recommends the good cards and loans and i apply and get rejected,i havent made al these applications at once they have been spread out over 18 months.i think the whole credit score is a falsehood,i mean ive never missed or been late for any of my direct debits ever, yet im not good enough for a overdraft or CC or loan.its rubbish

Once accepted for an overdraft with Halifax, usually no further external credit checking takes place when you request an increase or decrease.
So once accepted, the decision to increase your overdraft is based on Halifax's internal requirements i.e. how well you managed your account.
So you can have an absolutely rubbish credit rating outside of the Halifax, yet still get an increase in your overdraft if you meet their internal criteria.0 -
Agree with above
the internal requirements - are based on credits to the account - how regular, and how much (this will determine the level) , also if you have had any charges, or missed payments, and yes how long you have relied on the overdraft. They can send an email to the overdraft appeals department
they will also look at other accounts with Halifax , if any such as visa card ect0
