Joining Video Files ?????

Hi

I have some video files on my pc that I would like to join and put on 1 Dual Layer disc. They are 2 sets of files in 2 folders and I would like to run one directly after the other.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a progamme that would help me do this?

I am not very tech minded so something easy and cheap ( free ) would be nice but would welcome any suggestions

Thank in advance

What are the file extentions of the 'video files' you have on your pc?

Are they .avi, .mpeg .mpg. .ts .qt .vob? What type of file is important before anyone can sugest a method of getting them onto a dvd.

It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
any old video joiner will do. free ones or there are enough trial versions to keep you going for years

    take your pick from here

join them up and then burn them

Nero is the most hassel free DVD burner IMO try ebay for OEM version at knock down price ( i got mine for 50p). Nero is also good for all other burning ( slide shows for example)

It's not going to do her much good if she gets the wrong converter, or the wrong combination of files. The fact the OP is using DL media sugests these are BIG files, or they're small but the OP doesn't mind wasting alot of space :)

That's a pirate version surely, I mean its a 0 rated seller with Nero 7 Premium, a version that Nero themselves say they haven't produced in anything other than a Retail product and it's selling at £1.

The files are showing as mpeg files with a set name like vts_01 if that makes sense

If the files are in a folder called 'Video_ts' then they are dvd files. There should be 2 folders, one called 'Audio_ts' and the other called 'Video_ts', if you haven't got one called 'Audio_ts' then create one in the same place as the 'Video_ts' folder.

The .mpg files are dvd spec dvd files ie: Vob, ifo and bup have you got these in the video_ts folder? If so, it's simply a case of burning the two folders onto a dvd as data, they should then play in your chosesn dvd player without too much of a problem. However, you do need the .bup, .ifo files as they are what give you the ability to navigate the dvd ie: Press Play to start, scene selection etc.

To burn the 'Audio_ts' and 'Video_ts' files to a dvd use:
http://www.cdburnerxp.se/ and choose 'data' burn, ensure you've got your chosen dvd in the drive. Or you could use http://www.dvdshrink.org/ to shrink the vobs to fit on a standard dvd, or just untick the 'shrink' option and use it to burn the files to your dvd.

a neat trick if they are just standard .mpg files is to added them to a zip file.

In winzip select NO COMPRESSION add the .mpg files in the order you want. When they have all been added change the name of the file so instead of being myvideos.zip its myvideos.mpg
    it works a treat.
