Urgent help needed. SD card keeps saying write protected

I have bought the mrs a digital photo frame and am trying to put some photo's on an SD card using a multi card reader however it keeps saying the card is write protected. I have tried moving the little lock up and down on the card but it doesn't make any difference. Nor does trying to format it. I'm desperate for help as xmas is looming.
Anyone???? I need to do it before she gets up in the morning. It's my only time on my own

It could be the reader...
Not much help I know..but maybe you can borrow another card or reader.

Try putting the card in a camera and formatting or copying photos to it there using Windows Explorer.0
