Help,

My husband has debts of about £4000, we had a baby 9 months ago so I've been on maternity leave and have now resigned from my job as my boss wouldn't let me go part time (Childcare costs = wages so pointless), so its just oh wages and tax credits ect now.

We're struggling to pay back his minimum payment each month, circa £200, and I've just found out I am pregnant again, totally unplanned and very shocked and stressed about the whole thing.

Our income is around £1700 per month including all our benefits, and we literally never have any money.

Would he be eligible for a DRO do you think?

Would he have to tell his employer??

How do you do it?

Thank you so much, I'm totally stressed out with this now and with the new baby on its way its just another thing to think about.

It's impossible to say from the description you have given whether he is eligible or not, you could post a budget on here? but either way you should talk to NDL, CCCS or CAB to get advice from there. If they detirmine a DRO is an option they will do it themselves (CCCS or NDL definitely will, CAB may refer elsewhere...)

If he did do a DRO I doubt he would need to tell his employer...

Tahnk you, could you tell me where I could find the soa form please and I'll try and fill it in!

What do they do about benefits, is this all classed as income, we get child and working tax credits, housing and council tax benefit and child benefit.

Also, as its my husbands debts, do we just do the soa as a household, there are a couple of things that are mine and babies ect, do I still include these?

They only need to consider your husbands side of the budget, so the income in his name. I know the CCCS website enables you to complete a budget through that, and CAB have a SOA that people have posted links to on here...
