Options phone calls??

Hi there,

So we are nearly there with our IVA, or maybe just halfway? We have sent back all of our paperwork to Payplan and they are composing our proposal. We are both having our Options phone calls with payplan this week and wondered if any of you could tell me what to expect??

I am self employed, have managed to get them to do it on the phone rather than me do the 6 hour round trip to their office!

Should we have anything ready (paperwork) our end, or is it just for them to 'run through' everything with us??

Assuming this is the normal pre-proposal interview they will just run through the stuff you sent in, maybe ask questions if anything is unclear. they should discuss the other options open to you ( DRO, DMP, Bankruptcy). As you are self employed it might be a little more detailed. They will also probably ask for a short statement as to how you got into trouble in the first place -- no great detail, just overextended ... interest rates went up .. could no longer make ends meet, sort of thing ( I just said "stupidity" for mine ... but the IP dressed it up a little!).

It turned out to be a talkthrough our other options to make sure we had all information and made an informed decision then a run through our proposal and what happens next. Took nearly half hour but she was a lovely lady, and I think it was worth it to have a clear understanding of the next steps.
