Just made a claim for my Plasma TV which I baught nearly 3 years ago, basic fault which could have been resolved however due to them taking the mick and longer than 9weeks to sort out (even still deny any fault excists) I have had my TV been written off.
I baught the Plasma for £4500 (not to mention £799 for the "COVERPLAN") in Dec 2003 and been issued £1700 to replace the set, this price is based on a TV which according to them is of better spec.
When thay say "like for like" unfortuantly they do not mean Brand Name for Brand Name. It's like saying you own a BMW and being replaced with a Ford as long as it has the same size engine and electric windows etc.
These guys literaly take the "MIKE". They have based the replacement amount on a TV wich is currently half the price of the set which is being sold from the same Manufacturers (I owned a Pioneer and they are replacing it with a Philips), the current Pioneer they sell which also has similar spec to what I owned is valued at £3299.
How do these guys get away with doing this?
The problem I have is Currys refuse to price match on any of the TVs as I will be using Insurance Vouchers and unfortuantly they already sell these for a lower price to "Mastercare" and could not afford to lose any more money on TV Sets.
Shocking:mad: is what crosses my mind, there must be some sort of law or rule which stops them from doing this??
Anybody experienced similar issues with Coverplan / Mastercare?

yes i covered a sony TFT monitor with them back in 2002 the price at the time was £990 new, it broke last year on a 5 year plan, they sent me a samsung monitor which wasnt near the spec of the sony colours etc were not as good.
Pioneer make the best Plasma's going you should be getting another Pioneer with out a doubt firstly i would put your feelings in writing giving them a deadline by which to replace the pioneer with another pioneer, if not i would start proceedings with the ombudsman0
