A corroded coin is unlikely to cause the smell you have described.

Do you run your machine at 30 degrees and use liquid detergent? If so regular cycles of using liquid means no bleaching agents in your detergent and low temps can cause build up of smelly slime in the machine. A few mainteneance washes as above using bio powder and checking the obvious things taht your drain is flowing freely outside hoepfully will solve.
If the coin had been stuck sideways and was slowing the draining of water this could have causeed a build up I guess and maybe some old dirt etc somewhere

Try at least two hot maintenance washes and then maybe see if you are sorted

my washer in old house use to smell like "rotten eggs" once it had finished cycle

it was the waste pipe not being plumbed properly

the waste pipe needs to have a "U bend" to trap the stagnant water otherwise the rancid smell will come back through the pipes n through ur washing machine

whilst you still need to do a boil wash once a month, this will not rid the "drain" smell unless u get the ubend sorted xxxx

Have you tried cleaning in and around the rubber seal of the door with a cloth?

You'd be suprised at the gunk that can live in there, plus it's really whiffy too!

Do you used liquid detergent? My old machine usually smelt and I regularly cleaned the rubber seal, the drawer and did hot washes with soda crystals. I blamed the liquid detergents. I use powder mostly now and I haven't had a problem with my present machine which is now almost a year old.
