ah ready beds! I have slept in one once and I woke up on the floor with the mattress part on top of me, so, as long as you don't move in them you are ok, if you turn over, it is likely to turn with you !0

i like a double duvet, on a single airbed, never cold0

You could also try a 'pod' style sleeping bag.
Much wider and you can turn around and wiggle about to your hearts content and you wont get entangled.

I bought my fiance a selk bag for xmas off groupon. It's a sleeping bag with arms and legs so you can walk about if needed. The hands unzip too so you can do stuff. He's away camping in it tonight and he was saying he's too hot if anything lol0

I dont like sleeping bags either. Over the past few years I have tried - a mummy bag, a normal bag, a wider Vango bag, a duvet and two sleeping bags unzipped - one on top, one on bottom.
I now have a Gelert XL pod and its perfect.
Regarding the mattress - I have tried an airbed and a campbed, dont really like either. I currently still use the Capming gaz airbed but I am thinking of changing to a Vango 7.5cm thick self-inflating mattress but I am not too keen on the price.
Putting something under the airbed is definitely a good idea.

Hi
I always put a thin rug under the airbed and fleece blankets on top of the airbed. My children always have a sleeping bag and a fleece snuggle sac. To be honest I always take a few spare fleece blankets as I hate to be cold. I always take a proper pillow as I can't get on with camping ones.
Glad you enjoyed the camping though !

Don't take a mattress use an airbed, I personally find those air mats are a waste of money. There are double sleeping bags that are spacious and comfy. If you take a duvet bear in mind that many 'modern' tents are water resistant not water proof and can drip, as well as let water in through the top vents. Recently spend a weekend in wales with a soaked sleeping bad because our Gelert Tent let water in through the side vents in a storm.
If you were cold in your sleeping bad I suggest investing in one with a lower temperature rating, these may cost more but are worth it. Comfort Temp is the temp it should keep you snug at and extreme temp is the one it will keep you alive at, the lower the Comfort temp goes the warmer you will be.
Vaccum bags can be brought from Argos (Space bags) although make sure you buy a two way pump to deflate them.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -

I used an airbed last year with no blankets and was fine although putting a blanket underneath the airbed sounds a good idea0
