Baby healthcare kit

A few months back you helpful people on this forum helped me decide which items I really needed for a new baby. This was really great advice so I thought I'd ask another question!
Aside from Calpol I'm not really sure what healthcare items it could be a good idea to have in the cupboard. I don't want to buy more than I need but would prefer to have a few items on standby for when I need them at 3am rather than have to find an open supermarket/pharmacy.
So what items would you recommend for me to have "in case" for the babies first 6 or so months?
Best wishes

normal saline nasal drops for when they have a bunged up nose and snuffle babe (like vaporub but for babies) and bonjela for teething, possibly baby tixilix for a cough. you will find that most childrens medicine goes from 1 year anyway.0

nappy rash cream i.e sudacreme
vapour rub
teething gel0 -
teething powders are good, and infacol, omg I wish I had shares in that co the amount of the stuff I went through with my 2 when they were tiny.0

Calamine lotion is good for itchy bits, but it's a bit drying. So in an emergency you can add Bicarbonate of Soda (from your kitchen cupboards) to the bath water ...
As they get older, Germolene and sticking plasters cover a multitude of sins ... :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
forehead thermometer

If you have to buy Calpol rather than get a prescription then ask for Paediatric Paracetamol elixir (sugar free -kind to teeth) It's cheaper than Calpol but the same thing.
as kids got a little older I used to have a little spray bottle which I filled with water when they hurt themselves and I called it "magic spray" (obviously not on open cuts) it worked in the same way as kissing it better.0 -
:xmassign: Second the forehead thermometer, help's put your mind at rest if you think baby has a temp. I think Lloyds Chemist have a good digital one for £7.99.
I think most little ones get free prescriptions so check if your local chemist do a minor ailments service. (they do in Scotland) the pharmacist can prescribe things like the Paediatric Paracetamol elixir or cough mixtures or advise you to go to the Dr. hth0 -
calpol and Nurofen which you can take alongside the calpol, therefore 3 hours between each. You can get these equivalents on prescription
snuffle babes
teething powder and gel
karvol plug in for later
olbas oil for babies from 3 months
forehead and digital thermometer are a godsend
sudocreme
Think this is all we have used in 11 months. In the last few months with teething and colds and high temps, the Calpol and Nurofen are the most used.
