they have a 10 month bonus accelerator scheme in effect its a 10 month policy after which they give you 1 years NCD...

I have now got 2 years NCD by this metod and have the NCD certificate from them as well .. do you think other insurance companies will accept that as NCD ?? or is it 1 years ??? bit consfused ???

    Hi,

It is classed as 2 years NCD and you have the certificate as well - even better.

    You should be fine.

I have to disagree, when my eldest daughter started on this bonus accelerator with Diamond, I tried to change after a year to another insurance company and no one would accept the 1year NCD, in the end the only one who would accept it was Admiral, bascially the same group, so Admiral, Bell and Diamond will accept the Accelorator, if taken within their Group of companies, no one else will. I have since not bothered with this method and just shopped around, you can save more by going to another company with the FULL years NCD.

    Just my opinion and experiences.

I'd been "gifted" extra years NCD by my insurer, and other companies are happy to accept them. I've just changed company to Budget, and fully documented that I had 9 years NCD but had had an accident in the past 4 years. They were happy to take the 9 years in exchange for my custom.

Just make sure when you switch they don't sign you up for automatic renewal every year - tell them you'll call back in a year's time to negotiate improved terms.
