EDF dual fuel

I have been living in a relative's flat and was in credit on the account with EDF, but am now having to sign up to one of their tariffs in my own name. They have offered me dual fuel over the phone as I have both gas and electric with them, but I am wondering if that is the best way to sign up for a contract with them or are there better deals to be found online. I even heard dual fuel can be more expensive than doing them separately.
They sent me a contract to sign which doesn't seem to be for any given length of time, but I think I have to stay with EDF as they said they would transfer the credit from the gas bill on the old account to my one. I live on my own and my last bill shows annual electric consumption of 2395 kwh, and gas 3573 kwh, if this means anything to anyone. What is the best way to find the right deal given I need to stay with EDF for now?

Use any of the recommended comp sites on the main board along with your annual kWh figures. 2 minutes work.
I would query your annual gas consumption though, as that is absurdly low for a house with gas CH.
You don't have to stay with EDF, any credit owing will be refunded on your final bill after you switch. The switching process will take around 5 weeks, once you have registered with the existing supplier first. Sign up via a cashback site to maximize your return.
PS: based on London area rates, your cheapest variable tariff would be Npower Sign Online 22 (£447). Cheapest EDF tariff would be Online Saver V10 (£484). This is vs EDF Standard dual fuel tariff at £517. Both these tariffs have a minimum term though.
The best tariffs are invariably found online, not on the phone and certainly not by utility co. doorknockers. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
