Decorating Bedroom for 21 Month Old Son

Hello,
As I am due to give birth to pip No 2 in October this year, we have decided to move DS1 into the other bedroom to save us having to decorate another nursery and then do his bedroom soon after...
I am thinking of a transport or monster theme for the room but am really struggling to find wallpaper of any kind that fits in with what I a after... I don't want character wallpaper because I know he will be bored of those in a year or 2's time so wanted something more generic...
Does anyone have any recommendations of websites to look at for inspiration or where I can get wall decorations from?
Also advice on what sort of bed we should get him would be appreciated! He is currently still in the cot, so I am wondering whether to get a toddler bed or opt for a full size single which will obviously last longer!
Thanks
Mad

What about stickers instead of wallpaper, then easier to change. Most of the DIY shops sell them, word of warning though, put them where he can't reach!! We put alphabet ones in my sons room but they were too low and he used to peel them off!
When he went from the cot we put him straight in to single bed against the wall one side and had one of those things that fits under the mattress that acts like a barrier so he didn't fall out the other.0 -
Will the stickers stick to wallpaper - I am thinking the blown vinyl kind or something... Its just the walls are a mess and I can't really afford to replaster so was thinking of some plain wallpaper either coloured or to paint?

How about a plain anaglypta and then paint it? Then buy some big clip frames to put in related pictures / posters.
The walls can be repainted in a few years and posters changed whenever!
We anaglypta'd the hallway because of messy walls and couldn't be bothered to plaster the whole thing!Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
Don't think stickers would stick to that but you could paper with backing paper. We did that in our old house then just painted it.0

Be careful of what kind of monster walpaper you get, I got a glow in the dark boarder for my son's room when he was about that age. I had to take it off after two night's they scared the life out of him:o.
Wouldn't mind but he choose it:rotfl:0
