tarnished pandora bracelet - help pls

hello

i left my newish pandora bracelet on the kitchen windowsill and its gone all tarnished and looks awful

has anyone got any tips on how to restore it back to its shiny condition?

i did consider a silver polish but am sure i read somewhere not to use this on pandora silver?
also the clasp is gold and some of the charms have gold so not sure if this would make any difference to what could/couldnt be used.

please help

xx

What's the difference between silver and "Pandora" silver?

Assuming it's sterling silver (and not plate), you could try toothpaste. Use an old toothbrush and rinse it off with warm water and then buff with a lint-free cloth. Take the charms off first.

    thanks v much

tbh i have no idea what the difference is, if any - but there seems to be lots of conflicting info out there

i will try the toothpaste but the charms are also discoloured so will need to clean them also

A good way to clean jewellery, silver or gold is to put a piece of tin foil in the bottom of a small bowl. Place the item on it and put about a teaspoon of bi-carbonate of soda on the top of it then pour on enough boiling water to cover the item. It will froth up and bubble, agitate it a bit then leave it to cool down. Take it out after about half an hour, rinse it and polish with a clean cloth. It should come up nice and clean.

When mine tarnished I used silver cleaner ...it's in a tin and is a piece of fabric soaked in cleaning solution, rub bracelet and charms with this cloth, then polish with dry cloth....can't recall exact name but bought in supermarket.
I believe pandora is silver - grade 925 hallmark so any silver cleaner should be fine

I tend to use the foil and water trick, but I use washing soda rather than bicarb.

I had good results using the tin foil and bicarb method on a 40 yr old silver charm bracelet which I thought was beyond redemption.

Thank you so much for this. I've just cleaned a silver plated tea set of about 50 years of dirt and tarnish using this method. I can't believe how easy it was - especially since I already had bicarb and tin foil!

On a recent visit to a Pandora shop, they were giving silver cleanng cloths to all customers so it looks as if the bracelets can be cleaned in the same way as all silver jewellery.
