I need help with a cheap London Hotel for 1 night...

I am taking my GF to Paris on 13 July via Eurostar and I need to find a decent hotel not to far from the area, when we have gone before I have always stayed at the Euston Travelodge for around £30-40 however having looked for the last few months I have noticed the price is £160!!! that is absolutely ridic for a travelodge, I cannot find anything for under £150, apart from hostels but I do not want to stop in a hostel.

Does anyone know of any good deals or websites? I have been constantly looking for a few weeks now and I am getting fed up, I have got out Paris hotel for £430 for 5 nights for both and thats a 4* so to spend £160 on a 3 star travelodge for 1 night is absolutely shocking!

Any help appreciated.

I think it was that Travelodge that I stayed in too, but I was with my parents so they paid, hehe! Due to my young appearance I managed to count as a child so we ended up paying less :-) If your gf looks young u could try that....ok, maybe not, lol! Sorry :-(

Unfortunately, you have left it late to try to obtain a cheap central London Travelodge - the best deals are if you book early or in one of the frequent sales. The prices are substantially cheaper in the outer London hotels but obviously much depends upon the convenience factor and the time of your train.

Try Easyhotels and DaysInn who might be cheaper. But it is a fact of life that London hotels are expensive unless you obtain a deal or special offer.

    best of luck.

Try priceline name your own price. (sorry cant post links)
    You put your dates in
Where you want to stay in
Hotel rating (1 to 5 star)
How much you want to pay

At this point you put in your credit card details and if it finds a hotel you are bound to buy it! Sounds risky but i have used it several times and if you choose a 4 star they are reputable chains like Novotel/Holiday inn/Hilton etc. Should get one of these for well under £100.

Failing this try Tune hotel Westminster - It's £85 for Tuesday 12th July (look at tripadvisor reviews)

    Hope this helps

It depends. If you prebook well in advance then the charges can be really cheap - less than £40 for a double room.

As mentioned earlier the OP has left it late for any early bookings, and unless he is really lucky, he is unlikely to find a cheapie at one of the busiest times of the years in one of the most popular cities in the world.

    Op

I have just made a check on http://www2.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_book/saver_search.php?changeWeek=1&locpostText=london

and the Travelodge on City Road is available for £39.50 on 12 July. This hotel is only about 15 bus-stops from KX/ST Pancras on a frequent bus route from immediately outside the hotel (takes less than 30 minutes) or quicker by tube. Check TFL for routes and bus numbers and times.

Looks like good value to me.
