Hi i had a similar situation with loans.co.uk and paragon had the loan for less than a year and was charged 4k ppi so was paying for ppi even though the loan was repaid , had no luck from either company so went to fos they had my claim for over 5 years and have come back and said they cant do anything as ppi wasnt regulated at the time, what a waste of time it took them nearly 6 years to figure that out. This means that the loan is now over the 6 years so i cant re claim now. I feel the fos have let me down badly0

mumofmonkeys - not a clue what 'pink' means sorry.
bit worried about the post from nylon1975, doesn't look like there's much hope, although maybe things have changed since five years ago.
nothing to do but wait and see and hope for the best.0 -

I doubt things will have changed for the better. If you contact FOS (without mentioning who you are) they should be able to tell you what dates Freedom Finance, and London & Edinburgh subscribed to the GISC code.
Post that back on here and I should be able to tell you whether you might have a case.0 -
hi Magpiecottage
London and Edinburgh WERE regulated by the GISC at the time we took out the loan so maybe there is still hope. I know it is complicated for the FOS to investigate the relationship between the companies involved but can't understand why it is taking so long, surely it's just a yes there was a relationship or no there wasn't?
would appreciate your feedback on this
thanks0
