Call Credit are sh*te though lol
And that article is over 2 years old...0 -
Yes, they are nice people - out to help the consumer
They are a business of course.
They will put up adverts and make money from referral links etc.
If that bothers you then pay £2 for your statutory report.
I'm happy to have it for free in return for adverts.0 -
Data - salary details
What makes you think you have to give them salary details?
I've never given this to get credit report before.
Where does this info come from or are you just guessing and scaremongering???0 -
And that article is over 2 years old...
Also absolutely nothing to do with noddle, which is what I thought we were discussing ?????0 -

Everything to do with it considering noddle is part of the Call Credit group.
I have no connection, but feel there is some mis-information going on here that needs correcting.
I am not trying to pretend they are a charity or nice people etc.
They are a business and hence will be seeking to make money and profit.
It's good and savvy to ask what are they getting from you when applying for a free product.
Sometimes it's spam (which I haven't had), sometimes is to advertise products and get money from referrals, sometimes it's to sell on your details (for which you can usually opt out).
I have a free product from call credit.
I get very few emails, but there is advertising and "recommended" cards on their website.
It's fairly easy to ignore and doesn't bother me but I suspect that's how they make some money.
It's a bit like using facebook and ignoring the adverts.
Everyone has a choice, if you don't want the free product then don't get it.
But for many this will be a useful addition, plus importantly it could pressure the big two to give free reports eventually.0 -
My 'free' product is via my Capital One credit card. You get 2 free Equifax reports per year and a monthly update of any changes. Don't know if this offer still stands for new customers.0

Callcredit Limited ("we/us") is a UK consumer credit reference agency. A credit reference agency collects and stores details about you and your personal credit history. Lenders, including banks, building societies and other financial service providers, share credit information about their customers with us. The information we receive is used to create your credit report.
When you select 'Next', you are instructing us to provide your credit report to HD Decisions Ltd ("HD"). HD has been appointed as a processing agent for moneysupermarket.com and a number of credit card providers. HD will (on behalf of such credit providers) analyse key elements of your credit file, in order to determine your current financial standing. The analysis of your credit file will be used by HD to identify and rank credit card offers in order of appropriateness for your circumstances (but this does not necessarily guarantee that there will be appropriate credit card offers available to you). This ranked list of offers will then be displayed on the next page. You will then have the opportunity to apply for a credit card directly with the credit card company should you choose to do so. You may update your search results as many times as you want in 30 days. Any searches or updates made after this time will result in another analysis of your credit file.
Please note your credit file will not be provided to you directly, nor will any information be passed to any credit card provider at any point during this process (unless you subsequently agree to this). The information will be used by HD, at your request, on your behalf, to find the most appropriate credit card offers for you.
This process will not have any adverse impact upon your credit standing.
By selecting 'Next', you are not committing to make an application for a credit card. If you choose to proceed to apply for a credit card from the ranked list of offers, then the credit card company will proceed to carry out their own identification and credit application checks.
Please note that the provision of your credit report to 'HD' is subject to the Callcredit Terms and Conditions ("Terms and Conditions")
You agree that the personal details you supply to us will be used for the purposes of:
a) verifying your identity in order to ensure that we are providing your credit report in accordance with your instructions;
b) providing services to our clients in which your personal details are used to assist with identity verification, prevention of fraud/money laundering, service delivery and process implementation;

Noddle has appointed HD Decisions Limited (“HD”) to provide it with certain data processing services in order to provide you with the Confidence Rating Service.
By requesting provision of the Confidence Rating Service, you consent to Noddle providing HD with information that you have entered into the Noddle website, together with a copy of your credit file. HD will process this information in accordance with instructions given by Noddle for the sole purpose of providing the Confidence Rating Services (as more clearly set out below).
HD will (in conjunction with third party credit providers and information provided by them) analyse key elements of your credit file, in order to determine your current financial standing. The analysis of your credit file will be used by HD to identify and rank product offers in order of appropriateness for your circumstances (but this does not necessarily guarantee that there will be appropriate product offers available to you). You will then have the opportunity to apply for the product directly with the third party credit provider should you choose to do so. If you choose to proceed to apply for a product from the ranked list of offers, then the third party credit provider will proceed to carry out its own identification and credit application checks.
Please note your credit file will not be provided nor will any information be passed to a third party credit provider at any point during this process (unless you subsequently agree to this). The information will be used by HD, at your request, on your behalf, to find the most appropriate product offers for you.
This process will not have any adverse impact upon your credit standing.
Please note that the provision of your information, including the credit report, to HD is subject to the Callcredit Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”).
