    I always use 118 707...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Costs approx 51p a call, but if you want to use a short code the GM Group (118226) charge 33p for up to two enquiries and 47p for three according to MSE article.

    I always just use Google!

I've not phoned directory enquiries since way before I had my first PC 10 years ago.

Does that get you residential numbers ?

The reason your enquiries cost so much is almost certainly because they offered to dial the numbers for you and you accepted. It costs a lot to do this because the call is then being charged at the same premium rate per minute as your enquiry.

You should just ask for the number and then dial it yourself - quite possibly, depending on your tarrif with TT, the call itself would have been free and you would have paid a much lower price just for the enquiry calls.

As suggested above - use the BT web page and get the enquiry and the call free.

Oh I see sorry! I was talking about company numbers.

Don't think I've ever rang D.E. for a residential number in my life.

Possibly not a three minute call to 118500 is nearly £5.

Cost normally about 139p per minute and set-up cost of 49p thats BT prices TT want be much different.
