Quickest way to get a DRO?
One of my creditors sent me a legal document (not sure if it's a summons) requesting I attend court for non-payment of a credit card debt. The appointment is in 3 weeks time.
If possible i'd like to get a DRO before this date, as I can't afford to attend court (it's not in the UK) and wanted to send proof of the DRO to the court.
National debt helpline said they have a 10-12 week backlog and CCCS are quicker but there's still a backlog of a couple of weeks.
Is there anywhere else I can try? Even if it's a private company...I had been saving up for the £500 to pay to go BR but since i've been told a DRO is a better option for me I have a bit of spare cash and don't mind spending it on a private advisor so long as I can get the DRO done quickly!

Hi again,
If you have £500 you do not qualify for a DRO, the capital limit is £300 - be careful out there!;)

Try your local CAB, the waiting list varies considerably between next week or 10 weeks time - you might live in an area thats well served.

Should clarify I was/am saving towards the BR fee, and my dad was prepared to help me out with it too. As it stands right now I have about £180 "spare" cash which I have saved up to pay for BR.0 -
