No wireless connection although blue light working

Hi, I have had problems with my laptop's wireless connection for over a week and wondered if someone could help :-)

I have tried many things including system restore although each time I get a message that computer cannot be restored to the previous setting. The blue wireless light is turned on although the laptop does not pick up any wireless connections, I have tried setting up a new connection and it does not work. The laptop has previously connected fine both at home and work. Only connection that works is the wired connection. Also tried to go through the 'repair' option on netwrok settings and this hasn't fixed it.

I can't seem to understand the problem having searched for the solution majority relate to the issue being that the wireless light is orange and not blue although my latop's light works fine. I have tried to switch this on and off and this hasn't resolved the issue either.

The problem started with me allowing windows error system to go through their checks when I switched the laptop on last week, and since then it has not connected wirelessly!

Any help will be appreciated- Thankyou
