                    Hi,
I had my new laptop delivered today and I am setting it all up - I have connected to my wireless broadband ok but the icon in the bottom left hand side is just showing the bars and it's just black and white no green on it. (if I hover over it says Orange - internet access)
Also my old laptop used to have an icon showing two monitors with a world over them when it was connected. Has this laptop just got a different type of icon - or should I have the icon that shows the world?
I have read the above and I sound like a total idiot but I am just concerned I have icons missing - I don't know why I am just a worrier like that
. It was a refurbed laptop so I want to check it's all ok so if it's not I can send it back.
Thanks (it's a Toshiba Satellite L655 - 16E)

So it's normal then - I knew I was prob being an idiot but I was getting all worried.
So my broadband here cuts out sometimes and on my old laptop I could tell it was about to do it by the world disappearing and then I could see when it came back by the world appearing. I guess I won't see that on this laptop then.0 -
Posted before I saw your next post - Thanks for that - you are a star xxxxxxxxx
Any other window 7 things I should know about before I start spamming the board with pathetic girlie questions??0 -

Yep, when to make a Windows 7 Repair disk? Answer = Now!
How to use Windows backup!
How to do a Factory Restore.
Sorry, being a bit presumptuous that you haven't done those but if you haven't they're probably the most important things you need to learn and do right away.
For Win 7 in general there's some excellent tutorials here:
