Cheapest Car Insurance ?

Options
Hi All,

Im looking for car Insurance for me and my son.

I will be the main driver 23 Years driving and 23 years No claims and
My son will be the Named driver, only recently passed.

What is the cheapest insurer for this type of quote ?

I got a co-op quote for £1700 but was wondering if anyone else has found cheaper :)

Thanks!

I've just signed up for CSIS but you have to be linked to the Civil Service. Saved myself £250 using them instead of my old insurer.

Just make sure you really are the MAIN user of the vehicle... if you have another vehicle in the home that you use regularly the insurer may consider this Fronting so be careful.

Its impossible to say who is cheapest as everyones circumstances are different

Check all the comparison sites and then direct companies like NFU Mutual, Aviva, Direct Line etc etc.

That's probably not a bad price at the moment.
You can have cheap insurance for yourself normally, but they won't consider putting your kids on as named drivers, or you can have companies who are a lot dearer who will.
Neither my wifes or my insurer will put my daughter on as a named driver, (they are very competitive for us though), even though she has her own car, with insurance in her name, so it's (reasonably) obvious we're not fronting.
(I just want a lift back from the pub after being her taxi for 17 years).

suppose the price isnt too bad ,

As for comparison sites , they are easily the worst in price... quotes in excess of £5000 !

    my 2 cents...

NFU mutual have just hiked my insurance by 85% from £420 to £790. I was told on the phone that they have regraded my area to be more dangerous in terms of bogus claims and crime.

Co-op's quote comes very competitive at just £531 with a breakdown cover included.

Another cheap option is Sheila's wheels - they now do insurance for men, too. They are underwritten by esure.

You'll find every insurer will do the same. You may get a cheap intro offer from a company but you'll have to bounce around a lot of companies to keep that discount
