Nokia warranty

I bought a brand new boxed Nokia phone from a private seller on Ebay in December last year.
It wasn't the latest model but it was boxed and unused.
It has since developed a fault, when trying to use the camera the phone locks up for a couple of minutes and can't be used.
What are the chances of Nokia fixing it under warranty ?

Very low I would have thought.
Do you know when the original seller bought it? Is it even in warranty still?
Even if it's in warranty, they'll probably ask for the original receipt which you presumably don't have, and I doubt they'll honour any warranty if you tell them you bought it off eBay.
You might get lucky though.0 -

I recently purchased this phone from somebody selling on ebay
and they stated that the phone was unused (which it appears to be), and I was wondering how I would find out if it has already been registered for the Nokia Warranty, or am I required to do this.
If it has already been registered, would you be able to inform me of the remaining time left on the warranty.
Many thanks

A glance at the Nokia website (or the warranty information with the handset) will show that if you don't have the receipt then the warranty runs for 25months from the date of manufacture. You can even enter the serial number to see if it is still covered. You can then choose to send the phone back or take it to a service centre.
If you do have the original receipt then the warranty runs for 24 months from date of purchase.
Unfortunately, that is the end of the good news if my experience is anything to go by. I found their processes and procedures after that point chaotic and badly broken. Their repair quality control also failed. Their courier was also hopeless (although that is not in Nokia's complete control)
Hopefully the situation will have changed since last October and the OP will be spared the frustration and expense. (I could expand on this if anyone has the patience)0 -
I've checked the serial number on the Nokia site and it is now out of warranty based on the date of manufacture

However I may have found the problem,I think it might be the memory card causing the phone to freeze.
Cheers guys0
