Large room plus CH system runs on LPG at 42p/litre so spending around £400 pm in the winter on fuel.

Wow! 42ppl that's brilliant for bulk lpg at the moment.

Look on the bulk lpg thread, you will see people paying about 60ppl in some cases.

Where do you get your lpg from?

Perhaps you could post that info on the bulk lpg tread to make all we lpg users sick with envy!!

    Good luck.

If you want to keep the fire in longer between refills then go for solid fuel cobbles or pearls, about £13 - £18 50kg bag, once the fire is going well close down the dampers just so theres a slight trickle of air getting in, then stoke it up well with the solid fuel, it should stay in for a goog 8 - 10 hours overnight etc, give it a riddle open the vents put a bit of wood on again and away it'll go again.
