Telewest Talk anywhere

I have a telewest package which includes Talk anytime at £25 a month. Looking at their site I now see there is a talk anytime for £20 a month for 200 minutes, this includes mobile and the dreaded 08 numbers. They also do 400minutes at £28 a month. Surely there must be a catch as it is cheaper and would allow for the extra mobile calls that DS makes.

Any comments or opinions would be welcome from all thof you out there with better brains than me to work:confused::confused: out the best package.

I currently have the basic TV package with teleport Tv(which is absolutely brilliant Broadband and the:confused: previously mentioned telephone package:confused:

I have signed up for that, it has worked well for me as most of my call charges were for calls under 20p and 08 numbers.

  • I have had nothing but problems with this service. Signed up for talk anywhere 200 in June but there seem to be a problem with minutes that are rolled over. I regularly got charged for 1 weeks worth of calls but on the bill they were saying that I had not used my minutes from the last period.

They tried to correct by adding a £25 credit for the 3 months that it was wrong but this months bill the same has happened and when I asked them to send screen shots of my calls again I had not used the 200 minutes. After them placing more credits on my bill I have now cancelled the service - which is a shame as in theory it is a good scheme.

Theirs a good chance depending on your usage that you would be better off reducing your Cable Package to the basic one with free weekend minutes ,and using http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php via their Freephone Access Number to make cheap geographical peak & evening, mobile, intl and ngn calls.

We had the same problems as you with the same package, i really couldnt understand the statement figures agains what mins we had and called many times only for it to go on my file that we were going round in circles getting nowhere but it turns out your mins get added onto the statement and it those mins that rollover so your not getting a true figure as we got charged apparentley for going over yet my rollover had 230 mins:confused: so confusing we went back to talk unlimited so we know what we will be paying for.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

No you dont Telewest and NTL treat calls to FREEPhone Numbers 0800/0808/0500 as non chargeable calls and dont apply a 6p connection fee to them. Thats why a large number of Cable Customers place their calls through these niche call suppliers.

In the case of 18185 they raise a 4p connection fee if your connected, but the cheaper connection and rates are far better then what TW offer.

Their are at least a couple more suppliers that also do cheaper calls for cable customers.EG: https://www.phone.coop and http://www.firsttelecom.com/residential/residential-paymonthly-CS.htm

Have a read of this article here, some cable customers may find it helpful.
