My Computer is running IE8 with XP Pro

I understand there is an issue with the IE8 update automatically downloaded, which amonst other things when a photo is displayed in the browser the computer goes off and restarts on reboot most of passwords a lost.

Apparently the solution is to Reformat allow IE7 to load then update to IE8 on the Microsoft website.

Does anyone know when Microsoft will do an upate patch to correct this fault automatically?

Sounds more like either you or the computer repairer is confused... certainly I am after reading that! Careful it's contagious!

Well I don't think he is wrong he is very knowledgable - Also if something was broken or needs repairing he would say because he could charge to replace.

Also Also I know as I have described what is happenning!

What Graphics card is in it ATI or Nvidia?
It's possible that the graphic card drivers my be causing the problem.
Since some graphic rendering (displaying) is handled by your graphics card.

If you have the latest drivers, Try either the latest BETA drivers or an older driver if possible.

See if that makes any difference.

if it's possible... can you try the on-board graphics?
see if that makes a difference? (you may have to remove the ATI card)
