Refurished Apple Macbooks

Hi all!

I'm looking to save some clutter and get my rid of my old tower and pick up a laptop. I'm considering getting myself a refurbished Apple laptop.

Has anyone any experience with these and also do you know of anywhere who offers pay monthly?

Andy

Buy online direct from Apple and they offer finance.

The refurbed Macs I've seen have been almost as much as a new one.

Amazon have new 13" MacBook Pros for a handy £100 off:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004P8JCY8/ref=asc_df_B004P8JCY83436089?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&!!!!!googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B004P8JCY8

If you don't fancy amazon, call into your local Apple shop and ask them to match the price - they usually will, provided amazon is showing as in stock and available for immediate delivery.

Apple offer finance. I got my iMac and my girlfriend got her Macbook from PC World, they offer finance on new ones.

I dont who would offer finance on a refurbished one though.
  • I bought both my Mac desktop and Macbook from their official refurb store, and saved a fair bit of money (over 15% if I recall, although it was a couple of years ago). The specifications and discounts seem to vary depending on what stock they have in but if you are not in a rush you can get yourself a good deal. Aside from the lower price, you couldn't tell the desktop was a refurb, and the only mark on the laptop was a very small blemish on the case.

I am using a refurbiserd Macbook I bought from Apple http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/specialdeals/mac?mco=OTY2ODY2NQ It was when they brought out a new version two years ago. It was as new and has been trouble free. If buying from elsewhere, why is the original owner getting rid of it? Look at getting one with Applecare or if it is under a year old buy Applecare for it, cheap on ebay.

Remember that those in higher education get discounts for themselves and family members so if you have someone close to you either in HE or working in HE then their discount can be bigger than the referb store plus you get the extended warranty, Apple Care, for peanuts compared to normal.
