Prices to top up brake fluid - Nissan Note
Have just had the car serviced at kwik fit (yes I know I know)
one of the items is brake fluid needs changing (not just topping up) because it has lost 'viscosity'
they have quoted 34.99, is it possible to do this cheaper/elsewhere/ourselves
we have no reliable local garages that we know of here, we dont know anyone in the area to ask, neighbours use vauxhall for both their cars as a main dealer

Brake fluid should be changed every couple of years because it's hygroscopic and retains moisture from the atmosphere . After a couple years the brake fluid is less effective.
I don't think the price sounds unreasonableWhat goes around - comes around0 -
£35 sounds comparable to my local garage. You can DIY but as it is something that if you get partially wrong leaves you with partial braking and if you get seriously wrong leaves you with no brakes, I'd pay someone if you are not 100% happy doing it, especially as some cars have procedures needing to be followed due to their ABS systems.0

£35 sounds far too cheap, are they just bleeding off the fluid in the cylinders?0
