Smile Bank application process

Hello, new to mse! Last night I applied for a Smile bank account, I was given a transaction number to check outcome. Got email to say check their decision, it said on the lines, delighted to open account with a £500 overdraft.
Then it said we still need to do more checks, not to worry this is what we do:o
But more than 24 hours not a word from them? As anyone had this, oh checked credit expert and they have checked my files. Wondered how long they take with their account opening process? Thanks

    You'll hear in a few days. I stopped banking with Smile though because the account balance on-screen when you login is not updated in real-time so I never knew what my balance was. The customer service is excellent, but (strangely for an internet Bank) the online aspect is lacking.
    I get enough exercise just pushing my luck

    But your available balance is shown daily so surely you make sure not to spend more than that in that day and have an idea of what payments are pending e.g. debit card transactions, DDs etc.?
    I do agree though they should bring things into line with most other banks.
    Yes, when I originally opened my account I had similar messages about the progress and as ashley has said it should be up and running within a few days. About a week if I remember correctly - it was a few years back!

    So it seems I have passed initialy with the Experian check?
    So the extra checks they do what are they:j

    Seems like a bank account that can be exploited in ways, Since it's not updated in real time.

    CO-OP Bank use Synectics Solutions SIRA Financial rather than National Hunter ;)
