Bed time for a 4 n half year old ?

I'd leave it for now until she settles into full time school. She's likely to be very tired for the first few weeks till she gets used to it.
My daughter is 4 and goes upstairs for a bath/shower about 7pm and gets ready for bed. I get into her bed with her and we have a story and cuddles. She's usually asleep within seconds of me leaving the room!
She sleeps round till just after 7am the next morning, so it must be the right amount of sleep for her. Here I go again on my own....0 -
730 seems like late enough to be put to bed im sure you could let her read play with dollies for half hour or so thoughReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0

We put my OH's DD to bed at about 6.30 to 7.00 she is 9 and i can see that being the case for a while yet.0

My two are 5 and 7 and are in bed at either half 6 or 7. They sleep till 7 no trouble.

7.30 seems about right, for your sanity as well. I have 2 DD 6 & 3, they both go up between 7.00-7.30, 6 year old has story and then its lights off, I sometimes hear her for about 10mins but usually not a peep. The 3 year old is very different, she will try it on, but we stick with the time.0

It's possibly the summer sunshine and/or recent warm weather. You could try putting a fan in the room to cool it down or blackout curtains to make it dark. When the nights are lighter (although, technically, they are already getting darker again as we are past the longest day of the year) it is sometimes difficult to persuade my kids that it is actually bedtime/nighttime and not morning-time/daytime. They can see it's still bright and draw the obvious conclusion.
Half seven ish seems all right to me. I'd stick with that, if it's worked up till now.0 -
My two-year-old has a 7:30 bedtime, and my six-year-old has an 8:30 bedtime. Any earlier isn't practical, because I'm not home from work until 6:15, and hubby isn't back until at least 6:30.0

I would say it depends how much sleep she needs - so the question is: what time is she getting up in the morning? Just like adults there is definitely variation in how much sleep children need - though sleeping around 12 hours is probably average. My eldest child went to bed after 8pm at that age and was always up by 6:30am, but then my husband only needs 5 hours of sleep a night and always wakes up bright and chirpy without the use of an alarm clock (grrrrr). My second child is more like me and still needs a good 12 hours sleep at 5 years old, so it's bed at 7:30pm.0

I bet that when she starts school in September she will be more than ready for bed at 7.30pm. DS was exhusted for the first 6 months of proper school.
My son has just turned 7: I read to him at 7pm, then he reads to me, and is left for 15 mins 'private reading' so he goes to sleep around 7.45pm and rises at around 7.15am."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of."
