If several people club together the multi licence cost split is quite reasonable per installation. I have heard that if you phone up to order you can beat the price down.

In response to this post, I wanted to let everyone know that in addition to offering multi-user pricing for single locations, Widgit offers home or family users a 15% discount on single unit purchases and a 20% discount on single units bundles of our Communicate Series software.

It is a good set of programs. It is just a shame that the "single" license is pound for pound more inherently expensive that the multi-license.

For example:

SymWriter single license is £149.00 for one computer
Symwriter 5 user license is £349.00 for five computers - that works out at £69.80 per computer.

Assuming "support" is included in the prices I would have thought it more expensive to provide support for five licenses than for one. There are more opportunities for something to go wrong requiring assistance.

I would think a price of say £80 to £100 would be more reasonable for a single user.

Also can the single user license be loaded onto more than one machine owned by the user. For example their desktop and laptop computer. Microsoft allow this for Office Suite as does Adobe for Creative Suite 5.5.
