    Not everybody has landlines now, although Skype/similar might be a solution.

    True, but this is a business we're supposedly dealing with here and one that could be handling thousands of pounds and they can't afford a land line (or don't want to give out a number).

    If was it a landscape gardener cutting a hedge for £50 or whatever or a small ebay business I probably wouldn't worry too much.

    Pattinsons in the North East use this type of auction and they have been doing it a long time so must be working.
  • Did anyone get this sorted at all?

    I've just come across this too. There's a house I'm interested in but the thought of paying a £5,000 admin fee puts me off.

    If anyone can help it would be appreciated!
